A Guide to Barn Weddings Upstate

Our friend and Upstater contributor Jennifer Kabat has just penned a piece rounding up the best Upstate barns in which to wed — yes, there is a serious demand for this, as those of us who tried to get married cheaply in the City know all too well. (I ended up getting married Upstate, too, not in a barn but in an amazing old mountain house with a bowling alley and a dance hall called the Winter Clove — can’t recommend it enough.) Says Kabat, “Over the past few years the Catskills have become a popular location for nuptials. The trend coincides with the rise of CSA-box-buying, locavore-eating, farm-to-table back-to-the-landers. It’s the staycation meets the destination wedding because it’s so easy to get here, and the Western Catskills ticks all the above boxes.”
